Everest Base Camp Weather Conditions in Spring
Spring marks the end of blistering winter and the transitional period to scorching summer. In Everest Base Camp area, the season usually brings mild temperatures.
By May, the weather patterns tend to change as the monsoon slowly begins to approach.
From early March, the temperatures start to decrease from 15°C to -10°C. During this season, the winds speed tend to decline to around 14 km/hr. Sunshine hour is 7 hours with precipitation per month 15 mm.
During this time of the year, there is a rare chance of rainfall. Thus, the humidity is also low and daytime temperature is warm. But, nights and mornings are still cold and chilly.
With the pleasant weather conditions, comparatively moderate temperatures, and better visibility, this time is considered as the best time for Everest Base Camp Trek.
March is the starting month of the spring season. At the beginning of this month, the days are short and the temperature starts to warm up.
At the end of this month, the lakes start melting. Teahouses closed during the winter season are opened. As the locals start to get back to their place and prepare for the peak season.
While the weather is better than January and February, there are still chances of occasional snow falls.

Everest Base Camp Weather Conditions in Monsoon
In Nepal, monsoon falls between June to August and sometimes even up to mid-September.
During the rainy season, especially the lower parts of the trail get wet, muddy, and slippery. Due to the continuous downpour, the mountains are covered in the cloud or fog or mist.
For this reason, most of the trekkers don’t recommend Everest Base Camp trek during this season.

July is another monsoon month and it starts to get hotter than in June. The weather during this month is hot and humid.

August is the end of the monsoon season. But it is still the wettest period around the Everest Base Camp.

Autumn is the start of the peak trekking season in Nepal. Expect to find thousands of people flooding on the Everest Base Camp trail.
These months are also the driest months in Nepal. Weather conditions are all favorable, neither too cold at the higher elevations nor too hot at the lower elevations.
Average temperature may reach 15°C during these months. The temperature ranges from max 20°C in a daytime to -10°C at night.
It is important to note, during the day it may be warm but as the sun goes down temperatures can drop down to freezing level.
During this season, there is less chance of rainfall with no precipitation. The wind speed is also minimal 14 km/hr, a good range while trekking in Everest Base Camp area.

September is the beginning of the autumn season. With the end of the monsoon season, the temperature also starts to decrease in the Everest Base Camp area.
At the beginning of this month, there is a little chance of rainfall.
The days are warm with the max temperature of 15°C. Whereas in the morning and night, the temperature might drop down to around 2°C.
At the end of the month, with the end of monsoon, there will be no clouds to block mountain views.
October is the best among three months in Autumn season. During this month, there is no chance of rainfall. So, there will be no fog and clouds. So, the visibility of this month is amazing!
Trekking in Everest Base Camp during this month is perfect due to the stable weather conditions. Temperature is neither too cold at the low altitude nor too hot at the high altitude.
The temperature range from max 12°C in the daytime to the min -6°C at night.
Please be advised: In October, almost all tourist attractions are overcrowded including Everest Base Camp. Flights schedules are busy and prices go up for some services.
Be prepared for larger crowds than normal if you choose to go to Everest Base Camp this month.
November is the end month of the autumn season. During this month, the days are sunny and bright. In this month, you can still enjoy the scenic views around Everest Base Camp.
During this time, the temperature ranges from max 6°C in the daytime to min -12°C in the night.
At the end of this month, the temperature tends to decrease. It’ll be a little cold especially at night and at high altitudes.
Thus, you need to be well-prepared with proper trekking gears. The sleeping bag is the most important trekking accessory during this month.

Despite the cold weather, the views of the mountains and valleys during the day are impressive.
The winter season at Everest Base Camp area is dry. During this season, the temperature at the lower elevation is truly bearable but, there will be heavy snowfall at the higher elevations.
The average temperature ranges between max 20°C in the daytime to -17°C at the night.
In this season, expect freezing temperatures during the nights and in the early mornings.

During this month, there are a few sunny and clear days in comparison to February month. So due to the foggy and cloudy weather, you may not get the clear views of snow-capped mountains.
