Reaching the top of Island Peak at 6187m, with snow under your feet and gazing out at the Himalayas, is an incredible accomplishment that will leave you with unforgettable memories and stories to share.
The journey begins by following the famous Everest Base Camp trek, passing through the colorful town of Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital and gateway to the high Himalaya. It then ascends to Tyangboche, where an ornate monastery sits amidst breathtaking mountain scenery.
The panoramic views from here are breathtaking, especially at sunset when the mountains seem to dance in a kaleidoscope of colors.
The route takes you deep into the heart of the Khumbu region, following sacred rivers and traversing forests filled with rhododendron, bamboo, pine and fir trees.
You will pass through charming Sherpa villages steeped in tradition where people follow time-honored customs for an uncomplicated life, and you will be warmly welcomed.
Reaching Everest Base Camp, you will be awestruck by the icy sanctuary that surrounds you.
Climbing Kala Patthar will provide you with arguably the best views of Everest on the planet.
From there, you will leave other trekkers behind to climb the summit of Island Peak, a challenging feat that will be worth it once you reach the top and feast your eyes on the outstanding, mesmerizing views of Thamserku, Makalu (8485m), Ama Dablam (6828m), Baruntse (7168m), Lhotse (8501m), Lhotse Shar (8386m), Peak 38 (7590m), Kusum Kanguru (6367m), and the Dudh Kosi Valley.

Island Peak Climbing Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Nepal! We will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel. Just relax for the rest of the day to recover from your jet lag.
Day 2: Pre-trip meeting, any last-minute shopping for your trip, then Kathmandu sightseeing; visit – Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Patan Durbar.
Day 3: Flight to Lukla (45 minutes) and trek to Phakding.
Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar.
Day 5: Exploration around Namche Bazaar (Acclimatization day).
Day 6: Trek to Tyangboche.
Day 7: Trek to Pheriche.
Day 8: Trek to Lobuche.
Day 9: Trek to Everest Base Camp and return to Gorak Shep.
Day 10: Trek to Kala Patthar and return to Dingboche.
Day 11: Trek to Chhukung.
Day 12: Trek to Island Peak Base Camp.
Day 13: Summit Island Peak and back to Base Camp.
Day 14: Buffer day in case of bad weather.
Day 15: Trek to Deboche.
Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar.
Day 17: Trek to Lukla.
Day 18: Flight back to Kathmandu.
Day 19: Free time!
Day 20: Departure; transfer to airport.
