Now you can experience one of the most exciting journeys in Nepal. The “Kanchenjunga Trek”. Kanchenjunga is located on the eastern border of Nepal in what was a fairly remote area that was only accessible to climbers who were willing to camp. Now that affordable teahouses have opened up, this area is available to trekking enthusiasts.
Kanchenjunga will appeal to anyone looking for a challenging trek visited by few other. It is a more tranquil and authentic experience in comparison to the often crowded more well-known treks.

While this trek is not the most difficult in the area, it is challenging due to the fact that the trail is narrow, and the accommodations can be primitive at times. However, if you are searching for an authentic experience, you have found the right trek.One interesting aspect of the journey is that for a number of days, you will climb to a height but return to a lower level to sleep. This assists your body acclimatize to the changing conditions.

The walk starts by approaching the northern side of Kanchenjunga making your way to the North Base camp. Upon reaching Pangpema the trek returns as far as Ghunsa to then cross the Mirgin La Pass to the southern side of the mountain. On this side you journey through the Yak pastures of Oktang and Ramche making your way to the South Base Camp.
