Our 15-day itinerary begins with a flight to Bhadrapur followed by a scenic drive to Sukethum, where your adventure begins. Trekking through remote alpine country, you’ll wal through valleys, gorges and lush rhododendron forests, encountering diverse wildlife along the way.
The trail leads you to the majestic north face of Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world, standing tall at 8,586 meters. At Pang Pema, Nortern Kanchenjunga Base Camp, you’ll be treated to a eye catching panorama of over 16 Himalayan peaks, including Everest and Makalu.
Throughout the journey, you’ll immerse yourself in the rich cultures of Rai, Limbu and Tibetan villages, where warm hospitality awaits. As you ascend to higher altitudes, you’ll witness the transition of landscapes, from sub-tropical lowlands to alpine forests and glaciers.

Kanchenjunga North Base Camp trek can be extended to 17 days to cross the Nango La Pass (also known as Nangpa La Pass) and visit Olangchun Gola. If you extend this trek by 2 days, you will explore further pristine lands, crossing the Nango La before reaching Olangchung Gola. You will spend 2 nights in tents if you extend the trek for 2 days. Day 1: Fly to Bhadrapur (45 minutes flight), drive for 6 hours to Fidim (1270m/4166ft)
Day 2: Drive to Sukethum (1585m/5200ft) via Taplenjung (1820m/5971ft)- 8-hour drive
Day 3: Trek to Amjilapsa (aka Amjilosa) (2395m/7857ft)- 5 to 6-hour walk
Day 4: Trek via Thyanyani to Gyabla (2730m/8956ft) – 5-hour walk
Day 5: Trek to Ghunsa (3427m/11243ft) – 4-hour walk
Day 6: Exploration/ Acclimatization Day at Ghunsa
Day 7: Trek to Khangpachen (aka Kambachen) (4050m/13287ft)-5-hour walk
Day 8: Acclimatization and side trip to Jannu view point (4540m/14895ft)
Day 9: Trek to Lhonak (4780m/15682ft) – 4 to 5-hour walk
Day 10: Trek to Pangpema (5143m/16843ft), the Northern Base Camp of Kanchenjunga, return to Lhonak – 7-hour walk
