Nepal and Bhutan Tour Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu, meet at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Afternoon exploration of Kathmandu – Pashupatinath, Boudha, Swyambhu, Kathmandu Durbar Square and a walking tour back to the hotel through Ason/Indrachowk.
Day 3: Take a flight from Kathmandu to Bhutan, arriving in Paro, and transfer to a hotel in Paro.
Day 4: Paro Excursion, including a hike to Taktsang Monastery, then drive to Thimphu.
Day 5: Travel from Thimphu to Punakha.
Day 6: Journey from Punakha to Wangdue Phodrang to Trongsa.
Day 7: Travel from Trongsa to Thimphu.
Day 8: Drive to Paro for the final departure to Kathmandu, meet in Kathmandu, visit Bhaktapur and Changunarayan, then drive to Nagarkot.
Day 9: Drive to Bandipur and explore.
Day 10: Drive to Pokhara.
Day 11: Visit Sarangkot for sunrise in the morning, explore other sights in Pokhara including World Peace Stupa.
Day 12: Drive to Dhampus, trek to Australian Camp (about 1 hour and 15 minutes). Overnight stay at a basic teahouse.
Day 13: Enjoy the best sunrise view over the Himalayas from Australian Camp, walk to Kande (about 45 minutes), then drive to Pokhara. Fly around 2 p.m. to Kathmandu.
Day 14: Departure transfer to the airport according to your flight time.

When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, our representative will warmly greet you. They’ll meet you at the airport exit and take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. As you settle into your hotel, take some time to rest and get used to your new surroundings. Kathmandu is a lively city filled with history, culture, and bustling streets. You can explore nearby areas or relax in preparation for the journey ahead. You’ll spend the night in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we  start a guided tour of Kathmandu, known for its ancient temples, palaces and vibrant culture. You’ll visit Pashupatinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, explore Swayambhunath, also called the Monkey Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square, known for its temples and palaces. As you return to your hotel, you’ll walk through Ason and Indrachowk markets, bustling areas with various shops. Spend the night in Kathmandu.

Today, you’ll begin your journey to Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon. After breakfast, we’ll take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight to Paro, Bhutan. Enjoy breathtaking views of snow capped peaks and lush valleys as you fly over the Himalayas. Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, your local guide will greet you and take you to your hotel in Paro. Take some time to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. You can explore the charming streets of Paro in the evening. Spend the night in Paro.

Wake up to the fresh mountain air of Paro for an exciting day of exploration. After breakfast, hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery, known as Tiger’s Nest, perched on a cliff. The hike to Taktsang Monastery usually takes about 2 to 3 hours. It depends on the group’s pace and the weather. The trek includes some moderate to challenging uphill sections.

What is the trekking experience like from Dhampus to Australian Camp on Day 12?

The trek from Dhampus to Australian Camp is relatively easy and short, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. You’ll enjoy scenic views of the Annapurna range and the surrounding hills. Overnight accommodation is provided in basic teahouses.
