Overview

If you are a fun and adventurous family, want to give your kids an Asian experience and an introduction to trekking, there is no better place to come than Nepal. Break away from the crowds and the normal family beach holidays, bring your children to the home of the Himalayas, to experience something different, to marvel at the wildlife and to breath the fresh mountain air in the Annapurna.

The family holiday in Nepal trip starts with trek, known as Royal trek, included in this trip is a perfect introduction to the trekking world and is ideal for little ones and youngsters as it reaches a maximum altitude of just 1730m whilst not missing out on the views. We also take you into the national park of Chitwan where you go on an elephant back safari to spot rhinos, crocodiles and other superb wildlife. Boating on the Phewa Lake in Pokhara is fun for all the family and the beautiful Annapurna will surround you as you paddle out further into the lake.

We finish the trip doing the High Ropes in the Last resort, which is situated up near the Chinese border and is a fun-filled, adventurous, thrilling day for kids and adults alike. This family holiday in Nepal will be one to remember for sure and will leave you with memories for years to come.

Itinerary

Activities: We will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel, just relax for the rest of the day to recover from your long journey.

Highlights: Bustling Thamel, an array of restaurants, cafes and shops.

Accommodation: Kathmandu 3 star hotel.

Highlights: Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Stupa, Swaymbhunath and Patan Durbar Square, cultural and historical sights of the Kathmandu Valley.

Accommodation: Kathmandu 3 star hotel.

Highlights: Boating on the Phewa Lake, the peace and tranquility by the lakeside, the spectacular views from the lake and relaxing in the many cafes and restaurants by the lakeside.

Accommodation: Pokhara 3 star hotel.

Hours of walking: 3-4.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate.

Elevation reached: 1370m.

Terrain: Gentle inclines, well defined paths, riverbank trails.

Views on offer: The towering, snow-capped Annapurna range.

Highlights: Our first day trekking in this beautiful region and enjoyin the views

What’s to see?: Farmland and local Brahmin and Chetri villages.

Accommodation: Tented camp.

Day 05 :
Shaklung

Hours walking: 4.

Difficulty: Moderate.

Elevation reached: 1730m

Terrain: A short but steep incline, gradual ascents, forest paths and “Nepali flat.”

Views on offer: Thick forests, farmland and snow-capped peaks; Annapurna south, Himchuli, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu, Fish tail & Annapurna II III IV.

Highlights: Enjoying a drink in the local teahouses of Mati Thana whilst soaking up the mountain views.

What’s to see?: The villages of Naundanda, the local school in the village of Lipini

Accommodation: Tented camp.

Day 06 :
Chisopani

Hours of walking: 4.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate.

Elevation reached: 1260m.

Terrain: Steep, hilly descents, riverbank trails.

Views on offer: The Madi Khola River Valley, Annapurna south, Himchuli, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu, Fish tail & Annapurna II III IV.

Highlights: The campsite is in a magnificent setting tonight with glorious mountain views.

What’s to see?: A small temple set on a knoll, on a ridge above Chisopani.

Accommodation: Tented camp.

Hours of walking: 4 hours walking and a 30-minute drive.

Difficulty: Easy.

Elevation reached: 850m.

Terrain: Gradual descents and some gentle ascents through rice paddies and wide ridges.

Views on offer: The lake surrounded by beautiful mountains, farmland and rice paddies.

Highlights: Our last day walking, enjoying chatting to the locals and soaking up the serene environment.

What’s to see?: Local houses and villages, the lake at Begnas.

Accommodation: Basic Teahouse.

Highlights: Trekking up to the peace pagoda, exploring the lake and enjoying this beautiful lakeside town.

Accommodation: Pokhara 3 star hotel.

Day 09 :
Chitwan

A 5-6 hour drive from Pokhara. We spend 2 nights here engaged in various activities.

Day 10 :
Chitwan

Highlights: Jeep Safari into Chitwan National Park to spot the wildlife; you may be lucky to see crocodiles, rhinos and many species of birds, even a Royal Bengal Tiger! Canoe ride on the Rapti River, a trip to the elephant breeding centre, helping to bathe the elephants, bird watching, a cultural dance show and jungle walks.

Accommodation: 3* lodge.

Highlights: More jungle activities and time to relax in Kathmandu in the evening.

Accommodation: 3* Kathmandu hotel.

Highlights: The High Ropes! Swinging through the trees in an awesome environment.

Accommodation: Fixed tent with wooden beds.

Highlights: Time for some shopping! Or you could simply relax and enjoy your last day in Nepal.

Accommodation: 3 star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14 :
Departure

Goodbye and farewell from Nepal.

  • All your standard Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trek.
  • Twin sharing tented accommodation during the trek.

  • Licensed English speaking Guide (Sherpa), experienced cook and required number of Porters to carry your luggage and other camping equipments.
