Without a doubt, the Everest Base Camp is one of the best hikes Nepal has to offer. This incredible trek takes you to the foothills of the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest. Not only does this trek have Everest as one of the major attractions, but it also takes you to many other significant locations along the lap of the Nepalese Himalayas. The Everest Base Camp trek’s primary location is along the trails of the Khumbu region, which is the local name for the Everest region. It encompasses the protected area of the Sagarmatha National Park region, one of the most famous and protected national parks in Nepal.
The trip includes scenic flights to and from Lukla. You will also be hiking alongside the Dudh Koshi River, passing many high suspension bridges. Hike through several alpine forests and find several fir, pine, and rhododendron trees. You will get amazing vistas of mountains like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, and many others.
Stops like Namche Bazaar, Everest View Hotel, Kala Patthar, and EBC itself are the most talked-about places on this trek. Namche Bazaar is popularly known as the gateway to Everest. It is a town in the remote Khumbu trails with the best amenities in the region. The place houses many restaurants, hotels, and pubs. You can find the world’s highest-altitude pub (Irish pub) here in Namche. Another popular stop, the Kala Patthar viewpoint, is renowned for its best panoramic views of Mount Everest. The Kala Patthar viewpoint is about a 1-2 hour hike away from Gorakshep.
Based on the kind of itinerary you choose, the trip usually takes 9 to 12 days to complete. We offer a 14-day Everest Base Camp Trek on which we spend 2 nights in Kathmandu and 11 nights on the trail trekking to EBC and back. You will need a moderate level of physical fitness to complete this trek. So, on this trail, you get to capture amazing photos that will last in your memory for years to come, and you can always check back to those photos to bring back your memories. We have put together some photos of the region.
