Day 1: Short Flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

After we pick you up from the hotel, you will enjoy a spectacular short flight to Lukla. The Lukla Airport is on a hill with a single landing strip that drops towards the deep, wide valley. With high mountains and incredible hills, the airstrip at Lukla is truly mesmerizing. The flight is a little exciting adventure in itself.

After reaching Lukla, the mountainous scenery becomes moderately high with fresh air. From Lukla, the trek slowly follows to Cheplung Village. The view of the sacred Mount Khumbila from the village at Cheplung is beautiful.

From there, a trek of about 3.5 hours takes you to Phakding. The village of Phakding is in the north of Lukla in the Dudh Koshi River valley. Here, there are lots of guesthouses and lodges that gratify the travelers.

The topography is wonderful, and tall hills enclose the path like a huge bundle of emerald.

Day 2: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Hours of walk: 6 hours

Elevation reached: 3440m/11290 ft.

Accommodation: Basic Teahouse

After breakfast at Phakding, you will be heading towards the mountain town of Namche Bazaar.

During the trek to Namche, you pass through some smaller villages like Jorsale and Monjo. Monjo is in the north of Phakding and is the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park. The paths take you to the national park and lead up to Namche.

Sagarmatha National Park offers different intrinsic worth, like its alpine woods, small rivers, and dense forests. Wide acres of pine and cedar offer a pleasing trekking environment.

Due to its strategic location, Namche Bazaar is the commercial center of the Khumbu region. It is on a mountain surface and delivers the most scenic sights of the Thamserku Mountain and the amazing view of Kongdi RI Himal.

Day 3: Namche Bazaar (Acclimatization day)

Day 4: Trek to Tengboche

A simple trek from Namche begins with the Dudh Koshi Valley at the arrangement of Phungki Thanka.

Here, you will cherish an incredible view of Mount Everest. Walking along the path that runs alongside the precise side of the Dudh Koshi River, you will reach the village of Tengboche. The trek from Namche to Tengboche offers a remarkable natural panorama of rivers, hills, and Himalayan Mountains.

The Tengboche village is located at the convergence of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola Rivers. The village is surrounded by tall hills that are covered with rhododendron trees.

It is also well-known for the Tengboche Monastery, the leading monastery of the Khumbu region.

Day 5: Trek to Dingboche

The trekking path takes you to the Imja River through a suspension bridge, moving towards the village of Dingboche. Throughout the trail, the village of Pangboche is crossed.

Dingboche is known as the “Summer Valley” of Khumbu. It encloses a one-kilometer-long wall made to protect the crops of the village from the freezing wind that slides down the Imja Valley.

From Dingboche, you will enjoy charming sights of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak.

Day 6: Acclimatization Day trip Around Dingboche

Dingboche is also perfect for acclimatizing.

A walk to Nagarjun is an ideal way to travel around Dingboche. Nagarjun (5100 meters) is situated above Dingboche on a hill at the end of the Chhukung valley. Here you will enjoy climbing and a steep walk that requires some energy. Traveling around for about 3-4 hours, we will reach Nagarjuna.

Here, you will have a wonderful view of Lobuche East, Lobuche West, Kangtega, Taboche Peak, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam.

Day 7: Lobuche

Hours of walk: 5 hours

Elevation reached: 4940m/16207ft

Accommodation: Basic Teahouse

Highlights: Pheriche, Chupki Lhara, Khumbu Glacier moraine, Mount Nuptse

Going through Dhungla from Dingboche, you will pass through the Trekkers Aid Post located at Pheriche (4210m). It is organized by Western Volunteer Doctors with the assistance of The Himalayan Rescue Association.

Then, you reach The Chupki Lhara, a rock-strewn slope. From here, you can view the sight of amazing peaks. The trail then passes to the Khumbu Glacier moraine. Mount Nuptse also comes into view after passing the glacier.

Afterward, we arrive and stay at Lobuche for the night.

Day 8: Trek to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep

Elevation reached: 5300m/17400ft at Base Camp and 5170m/16961ft at Gorak Shep

Accommodation: Basic Teahouse

The trek to Everest Base Camp starts with a slow walk to avoid altitude sickness. From Lobuche, the path runs next to the view of the world’s highest glacier, the Khumbu Glacier.

After walking for several hours from Lobuche, we arrive at Gorak Shep, a peaceful site spotted with some hotels. From here, the path proceeds all the way to the top of the border, and we arrive at our desired destination, the Everest Base Camp.

Here, the view of the Khumbu Icefall and the sight of the Khumbutse and Lingtren peaks are extremely wonderful.

After enjoying some time at the base camp with the beautiful landscape and peaceful surroundings, we return to Gorak Shep.

 Day 9: Hike up to Kala Pattar and trek to Periche

Hours of walking: 7 hours

Elevation reached: 5545m/18192 ft at Kala Patthar, 4270m/14070ft at Pheriche

Accommodation: Basic Teahouse

We will enjoy a morning hike to Kala Patthar, another highlight of the journey.

Kala Patthar is a well-known vantage point well-liked for its amazing panoramic views of Mt. Everest and many other peaks. Here, we will also view the rising sun from the vantage point, which is truly amazing. The sun rises amidst Mt. Everest, making the color of peaks golden from silver.

After spending time at Kala Patthar, we will return to Gorak Shep and walk down to Pheriche.

Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Hours of Walk: 6 hours

Elevation reached: 3440m/11290 ft.

Highlight: Wonderful journey to Namche Bazaar

The trek back to Namche Bazaar follows the Imja River again all through Tengboche.

From Tengboche, we will move downward to Phungki Thanka, cross the Kyangjuma, and arrive at Namche. It is a peaceful hike where you can enjoy the wonderful sight of the landscape and the Himalayas.

Day 11: Namche to Lukla

Hours of walk: 6 hours

Elevation reached: 2840m/9320ft.

Accommodation: Basic Teahouse

The trail from Namche to Lukla follows a steeply downwards path passing a suspension bridge. Here, the Dudh Koshi River adds a gorgeous feel to the natural surroundings.

Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu

Today, you will fly back to Kathmandu with the amazing feeling that you have accomplished the trek to Everest Base Camp. You will enjoy the amazing view of the landscapes one more time during the flight. After arriving at Kathmandu airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.
