Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi(2,380m) and Trek to Dovan

Drive Duration: 6 hours

Trek Duration: 3 hours

We will start the 5 Days Langtang Trek adventure by driving to Syrabrubesi from Kathmandu. Leaving the city, you will join the scenic Prithivi Highway for a winding drive.

We will get a lot of good views of beautiful rivers, hills, villages, and even peaks too.

The drive, which is 6 hours long, might be quite exciting if this is your first time on Nepal’s Himalayan roads.

Following the drive of around 122 km, you will reach Syabrubensi by crossing popular stops like Dhunche. Syabrubensi is the beginning point of Langtang Trek. We will find a place to have lunch and prepare for the walk as we get off the bus.

We will get a flying start on our trek when it is time. The walk will go along the Bhote Koshi River. We will pass by a former Syabrubensi village and climb a hill. The whole walk to Dovan is around 2-3 hours long. We must go uphill from the river to reach the place.

Day 2: Trek from Dovan to Thangsep(3,190m)

Trek Duration: 5-6 hours

On the second day, we will start the trek to reach Thangsep. We will walk on the sides of the Dudh Koshi River and its tributaries. Crossing the water cascades a few times, we will reach Bamboo, an area full of Bamboo woods.

After catching breaths for a while, we will continue the trek. The walk via the serene woods of pine and rhododendrons will bring us to Rimche. After Rimche’s short stay, we will continue towards Lama Hotel. We may have lunch here at the place.

Leaving Lama Hotel, we will walk further via the riverside and lush woods. Soon, we will do a scenic walk to Ghodatabela. After Ghodatabela, we will continue on a straightforward trail to reach Thangsep. Altogether, we will need around 5-6 hours to reach Thangsep Village. Day 3: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa(3,830m)

Trek Duration: 4-5 hours

On the third day of the 5 Days Langtang Trek, we will rise to alluring views of Thangsep. We will have our breakfast and leave for Kyanjing Gompa. The trail at the start is more like yesterday’s, a flat trail.

Soon, our paths will reach the landslide area of the old Langtang Village. Here, we will see the flood of stones that destroyed the village. We will trek a bit more and reach the new Langtang Village. We will have a short break in the village, with good teahouses and lodges.

After the break, we will join a scenic trail to Kyanjin Gompa. The valley widens on the route, with beautiful peaks like Dorje Lakpa, Yala Peak, Naya Kangri, and Langtang Lirung. We will trek along the mani walls on a straight trail, enjoying astonishing valley views.

We will reach Kyanjin Gompa before evening. So, we will explore the Kyanjin Gompa’s Cheese Factory and some vintage monasteries. We can even take a walk in the open landscapes by the village.

Day 4: Morning Hike to Kyanjin Ri(4,773m) and Trek back to Lama Hotel.

Trek Duration: 7-8 hours

It is the most beautiful day of the 4 Days Langtang Trek when we will hike to Kyanjin Ri. We will start the hike early in the morning. Kyanjin Ri, the trek’s highest point, is 2-3 hours away from Kyanjin Gompa.

The walk to Kyanjin Ri is a bit steep, but the good panorama of the trail makes it easy. We will reach the apex of Kyanjin Ri shortly. One can take a 360 look at the entire region, which includes mountains, glaciers, villages, and valleys. We will cherish the view while at the top.

After that, we will cascade to Kyanjin Gompa, which should take a little time. At Kyanjin Gompa, we will have breakfast. After that, we will start the walk to Lama Hotel. It will be a long but downhill walk.

Day 5: Trek to Syabru Besi and ride a private jeep to Kathmandu.

Drive Duration: 6-7 hours

On the last day of our trek, we will wake and prepare for the trek to Syabrubesi. The hike to Syabrubesi is short as we meet the Dudh Koshi River again. We will pass Rimche, Bamboo, and a hot spring on the road. We will reach Syabrubesi in 4-5 hours of trek.

Upon arriving at Syabrubesi, we will pause while we arrange a private jeep to Kathmandu. Once all ready, we will hop on a scenic, winding, and shaky drive to Kathmandu.

More like on the first day, we will observe amazing views. Within the next 6-7 hours, we will be in Kathmandu. We will complete the brief but beautiful 5 Days Langtang Trek with that.
